Data research expert Ramazan Aygun will discuss his research on protein crystallization and research computing as the featured presenter during Kennesaw State University’s series Research with Relevance – Friday Features in a virtual presentation Friday at 11 a.m.
Protein crystallization has important applications in drug development and delivery, while data science has led to improvements in the protein crystallization process.
Aygun, who is co-author of the book “Data Analytics for Protein Crystallization,” joined KSU in 2020 as director of research computing and an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science with a joint appointment in the School of Data Science and Analytics.
He has published or presented more than 100 papers and book chapters in various aspects of data science, including data mining, data modeling, data communications, data compression, data presentation, data retrieval, data indexing, data querying, and data fusion.
Kennesaw State’s Office of Research is highlighting the research of department chairs and directors during the current season of Research with Relevance throughout the spring semester. Research with Relevance began during the Spring 2020 semester, creating a venue for KSU faculty across disciplines to engage in conversation on a variety of research topics.
