Ph.D. Concentration 鈥 Management

The Ph.D. in management concentration is designed to develop scholars for academic careers. Research interests of doctoral faculty in the Michael A. Leven School of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality 鈥 which houses the Ph.D. in management 鈥 cover the following sub-disciplines in management: entrepreneurship, family business, human resource management, international management, operations management, organization behavior, strategic management and supply Chain management. Faculty leverage deductive and inductive research encompassing a variety of research designs ranging from accessing primary data, secondary data, survey research data, experimental design data, data from in-depth case studies along with other qualitative research methods. The diverse research interests of the faculty allow doctoral candidates to explore a wide range of research topics and methods thus providing a rich, comprehensive, and rigorous learning experience. The Leven School is one of the largest departments in the Coles College of Business. In certain areas like family business and entrepreneurship, the Leven School has been ranked nationally as one of the pre-eminent schools. Leven School doctoral faculty are all well-published in their respective disciplines and are professionally recognized and visible through their scholarship and involvement as editorial board members and officers in professional academic organizations.
