KENNESAW, Ga. | Dec 1, 2021
We are pleased to announce that Associate Professor Elizabeth (Liz) Martin-Malikian has been appointed to a limited term leadership role at the Consanti Foundation, fulfilling the duties of CEO & Executive Director. The department is supportive of a one year leave of absence from instruction for Martin-Malikian beginning in January of 2022 to pursue this opportunity.
Liz has been selected by the Consanti Board of Directors to oversee operations, facilities, programming, and philanthropic initiatives for The Cosanti Foundation at both Arcosanti (https://www.arcosanti.org/history/) and Cosanti, as well as for the artisan bell-making business, Cosanti Originals.
The Kennesaw State Architecture department feels that this selection represents a highly valued relationship and expresses optimism for the diverse opportunities that might result and be nourished through this appointment. Interim Chair, Ed Akins II, stated that Assoc. Professor Martin-Malikian has 鈥渃onsistently contributed to the enrichment of our program and student opportunities at KSU through her outreach initiatives and external professional engagement. We view this offer as a direct confirmation of Professor Martin-Malikian鈥檚 meaningful work. I have confidence that Liz will continue to bridge academics at both organizations in a manner that results in mutual benefit and growth for all entities involved.鈥
In alignment with several of the goals and aspirations held by the KSU Architecture department, the Cosanti foundation exhibits ecological accountability, operates with a limited carbon footprint, demonstrates resourcefulness, and emphasizes learning by doing.
鈥淎s the world reopens and recovers, we are looking to create more just, safe, healthy, and resilient environments for our lives. I look forward to working with The Cosanti Foundation鈥檚 board, staff, supporters, and alumni family to deepen its impact as it enters this next chapter.鈥 鈥 Liz Martin-Malikian
