Are you a brass player planning to audition for the Georgia All-District and All-State Honor Ensembles? The Brass Area faculty at the Bailey School of Music invite you to join us for our All-State Brass Bootcamp, a morning dedicated to workshops and masterclasses that will help prepare students for their auditions!

What to Expect

  • World-Class Instruction: Etude masterclasses and help sessions that are specialized to each of the GMEA age levels: Middle School, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band.
  • Meet Our Faculty: Engage with our incredible professors and experience their teaching philosophies first-hand in a relaxed setting.
  • Student Performance: High School students auditioning for the Concert Band and Symphonic Band ensembles will enjoy a live performance by our talented students, and see what makes our program unique.
  • Meet KSU Students: interact with current students and hear about their experiences as a member of the vibrant community at the Bailey School of Music.
  • Q&A Session: Get answers to your questions about admissions, scholarships, and life at Kennesaw State.

Schedule

To allow for a personalized experience and specialized instruction for each of the honor ensemble audition levels, registration and start times will be staggered. Each session will begin with a brief welcome, followed by a masterclass, interaction with Bailey School of Music faculty/students, and a brief Q&A. High School students auditioning for the Concert Band and Symphonic Band will also enjoy a performance by some of our BSOM brass students!

9:00 a.m. Masterclasses with BSOM Brass Faculty

9:50 a.m. Q&A, Return to Bailey Performance Center for dismissal and pickup    
10:00 a.m. Event concludes for Middle Schoolers  Welcome from Brass Faculty and breakout into instrument-specific rooms  
10:15 a.m.   Masterclasses with BSOM Brass Faculty  
11:15 a.m.    Q&A, Return to Bailey Performance Center for student performance and practice masterclass Symphonic Band event registration begins

How to Register

STEP 1: Fill out the Protecting Minors Paperwork via DocuSign.

Parents/Guardians are required to complete the following forms by Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m., as required by university policy:

Note: if your child is 18 years old, please email musicksu@kennesaw.edu and we will send you the correct form.

PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD OR YOUNGER TO PARTICIPATE. 

STEP 2: Pay the Participation Fee

A participation fee of $10 per student is due no later than Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
